Presented by Purvi Parikh, Jyoti Gwalani and Sonia Mehta, The Ides of March is a conscious collective of designers with crisp and concise collections that express
creativity and individuality.

The Preview of the same, held on 15th March, proved to highlight that the exhibition is surely going to be a success.This fusion will be up for display on 16th and 17th March, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Tranceforme, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai in association with CVADO 1502, India’s first and only “Chocolate Tasting Club” that brings you the widest variety of exquisite fresh European chocolates delivered to your home. Membership to this exclusive club will start you off on the journey to becoming a true chocolate connoisseur.

Showcasing their works are, Anuj Sharma, Anupamaa by Anupama Dayal, Claudia, Designs by K, Divya, Joli, K Clothing, Kishmish, Metaphor, Monica G, Ormey by Rita Dalal, Paul B, Ranji Kelekar, Roma Narsinghani, Sourabh Kant, Suede, Zuilee, 11.11 by CellDSGN.

From the world of fashion, Savio Jon showcased the ideal dresses to battle the impending summer heat. Capricious and flirty with comfort playing the key element, Jon has worked on cotton separates with contrast interlock detailing. The look is mostly boxy and spacious which is airy and stylish. The fabrics used are 100% cotton &
sometimes Kerala Mundu. Jyoti Gwalani says that Savio’s collection is perfect for one’s summer wardrobe, we agree!

To add twist to your summer attire, the spring summer collection of bags by ‘Designs By K’ range from formal clutches to edgy handbags with trendy matching necklaces that would enhance any outfit.

Shraddha Nigam was seen in a cute green dress, with the perfect accessories to compliment her outfit. Speaking on summer dressing she says that, “The whole trend for this summer that I plan to follow is cotton, flowy, airy and bright colors or shades of white. The heat is unbearable and I believe that comfort is essential to being stylish.” Her outfit certainly justified her words!

The highlight of the event was clearly the presence of CVADO 1502’s chocolate stall, that had admirers coming in for more and more! Pankaj and Pawan Nagori
who are the owners of Indi’s first premier chocolate tasting club were proud to display their products.

Acclaimed designer Roma Narsinghani’s new collection was also previewed at “The Ides of March.” Aptly titled “Dream Catcher,” The colors for this collection are nudes, grey’s with a hint of aqua green. Steering away from traditional embroidery techniques, Narsinghani innovates her collection using shell buttons, fabric manipulation and embellishments. Her main aim is to make every woman feel beautiful, irrespective of size, and flowing silhouettes are her trademark. Manju Bhende loved her use of buttons in the outfits and was seeing admiring some on Roma’s designs.

The onset of summer, surely reminds one of the flowers that are soon to bloom. Keeping this as an inspirations, Anupamaa Dayal, is out with her new collection that is displayed at the exhibition. Aptly titled as “Phoolbagaan,” she said that she has full, ripe flowers in mind whilst working on this collection. Her Himalyan upbringing where flowers were her playmates has been a catalyst in shaping her perception of beauty, color and pattern. Her look with this collection is ethereal yet earthy, with burst of magnolias and camellias and brilliant butterflies that promise exuberance and freedom. She explores fabrics such as chanderi, light silks, taant, pashmina with colors of intense sherbets shades of jamun, gulabi, pherozi etc to ensure to tickle your nature tastebuds this summer.

Sujata Kapoor, who herself had adorned a gorgeous flower headpiece was seen lusting after Anupamaa’s works, She said that, “Summer is all about flowers for me, be it in the form of accessories or prints on my clothes or even wearing them in my hair. Phoolbagaan epitomizes the onset of summer, which is far better than the scorching heat, hence I love her stuff!”

An interesting mix of summer palates, some quirky thai starters like cold Vietnamese rolls and tofu satay, an eclectic mix of people from the world of fashion, all in all, Tranceforme is here to transform your summer wardrobe!
