On Tuesday Night, all roads lead to The Lalit Plaza for the Wigan and Leigh College Annual Fashion Show showcasing the sheer talent of their graduating batch of 2012.

As a tradition year after year CHIMERA has provided an apt platform for the graduating WLCI students to get introduced to the exciting and challenging world of fashion. This has been proved by the huge force of Alumni working most successfully in the industry today and making a distinct mark in the arena of couture.

This year CHIMERA 2012 showcased the work of 15 young and talented designers who have worked around varied themes on varied surfaces and textures, with some path-breaking experiments, covering a panorama of facets of design and styling, which was seen on the ramp. Each student displayed exquisite and master crafted 5 garments thus making their first footprint in the world of fashion.

Ms. Malobika Sengupta CEO WLCI India said “It takes hard work, creativity, and a true passion for learners to achieve success as a fashion designer, There has been an increase in interest among students in the fashion profession. As WLCI has always been in the forefront to spark interest among students at an early stage, this event will definitely turn into an opportunity to reach to the prospective employers”

As usual prominent names of the fashion industry like Rohit Verma, Shahab Durazi, Viren Shah, Lina Tipnis, Pradeep Hirani, graced the event with their presence. Also spotted were Rucha Gujrati, Shonal Rawat, Ejaz Khan, Ali Hassan, and Simple Kaul. Models Alesia Raut and Iris Maity lit up the ramp! Principal Bulbul Chaudhary was all smiles and looking every bit of the Principal of WLCI Fashion School in her traditional black and red sari!

The winners of the night, of the WLCI Best Collection was a tie between Sakinah Contractor and Sneha Advani who were both beaming with this award! All in all, a great event that encourages young talent to shine and with maestros like Shahab Durazi supporting this fashion show, one can say its a worthwhile cause!
