Nili Zahar’s line can be best described as statement making. From the show opener- a black gown with ruffle detailing to the strawberry red velvet gown with appliqué work to a black satin gown at the end of the show, the collection was daring and confident. A haute couture line, the Lebanese born designer used nets and georgette fabrics. Ostentatious, colourful and bright the designer showcased her draping skills.
With rivets, crystals, stones and floral cut outs, the outfits were given a sot of three-dimensional effect. Floral prints were mixed with plain sheer fabrics, while animal prints were in abundance and net detailing on the gowns gave them that extra volume. Apart from black, Nili worked with tones of royal blue, rich mustard, bright pink and emerald green. There was lots of bling in Grecian as well as mermaid cuts on the gowns, just perfect for debutante and masquerade balls. A line for a true Diva!
