Applause Entertainment, the content studio from the Aditya Birla Group, is bringing the project, which will be directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. It will be a 10-part series.

Atul will be seen essaying the role of party chief Ameya Rao Gaikwad, while Sachin will be portraying the role of Chief Minister Jagdish Gurav. Priya, Eijaz and Siddharth will play prominent parts.

Other actors on board include Uday Tikekar, Pavleen Gujral, Geetika Tyagi, Shishir Sharma, Sandeep Kulkarni, Vishwas Kini, Amrita Bagchi and Flora Saini.

“Mayanagari #CityOfDreams” is a story of power, corruption and deceit, which affects the three strata of Mumbai’s societal structure – the poor, the middle-class and the rich. It portrays the feud that erupts within the Gaikwad family after an assassination attempt.

We were hooked to the script when we heard it and I am pretty sure the audiences will love it,” Atul said in a statement to IANS.

“Nagesh has always been someone who creates unique stories and coupled with Sameer Nair’s extensive understanding, this is going to be a winner,” he added.

Nair, CEO Applause Entertainment, said: “‘Mayanagari #CityOfDreams’ has a story that demands a strong cast and we’re so glad that we have such a great line up of actors for the series. Every actor connects to the role and is very excited to play his/her respective parts. We are sure that the audience will be surprised to see their favourite actors in this never seen before avatar.”
