World Fair Trade Week is back with another edition and this year Delhi will be celebrated as the Fair Trade Capital of the world during the conference, reinforcing Indias commitment towards making Fair Trade a common practice.

Being held on account of the 14th edition of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) Biennial Conference, this event is open to all those who are involved or interested in fair trade issues.

The event will take place till November 15.

Speaking on the event Iytha Mallikarjuna – President FTF-I (Fair Trade Forum – India, one of the organisers) said: “It is a proud moment for India to host the World Fair Trade Week 2017 and the 14th WFTO Biennial Conference. It will be a great opportunity for the Indian artisans, weavers and farmers to link up with Global markets through Fair Trade organisation.”

“We are also launching the India Artisan Movement ‘I AM’ in line with the New India Campaign, to benefit the artisans of India.”

Speaking about the event Rudi Dalvai, President WFTO, added: “We are proud to be in Delhi which is a potential Global capital for Fair Trade. We do hope that New India will be empowered through Fair Trade approaches. I am sure that the Fair Trade movement will be the game-changer for Indian artisans and weavers.”

An array of discussions and activities will be held across the city to celebrate the fair trade week. A five-day exposition called the Fair Utsav is being organised to provide a platform to Fair Trade merchants and artisans across India to sell their products at the DLF Place Mall, Saket.
