Celebrated fashion designer Gaurang launched ‘Shringaar’, his new exquisite Jamdani hand-woven collection, at a show here on Saturday with actress Vidya Balan as the show-stopper.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav lit the inaugural lamp at the show attended by the who’s who of Lucknow including his wife and MP Dimple Yadav, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s wife Sadhna Yadav and other eminent persons.
The anthology in Shringaar, Gaurang told IANS, “introduces an unseen gamut of colour, diverse weaves from our land, with detailed textile art and ensembles befitting festivities”.
Admired for his jamdani sarees and outfit, Gaurang’s new collections from his jamdani weaves will take canvas in decadent lehengas, anarkalis, garaaras, kurtas, and more.
Shringaar, he further said, features bright kalamkari lehengas paired with kota dupatta, Benarasi woven ghagras, bandhani dupatta paired with kanjeevaram kurta, a khaki jamdani kurta with an jar, vibrant Patan Patola anarkali paired with a kanjeevaram, which he added, had a perfect balance between heritage and celebrations.
