Megastar Chiranjeevi on Saturday thanked Tamil actor Vijay for offering help to acquire the Telugu remake rights of his film “Kaththi”.
Chiranjeevi’s comeback outing “Khaidi No 150” is the Telugu remake of “Kaththi”, and it’s his 150th film.
“I came across so many stories. While there were some good ones, I wanted the best. Then came A.R Murugadoss’s ‘Kaththi’. Tamil star Vijay came forward and told me if I want to remake the film, he’d ensure I get the film rights. I was touched by his gesture,” Chiranjeevi said at the pre-release event here.
Directed by V.V Vinayak, the film features Chiranjeevi in dual roles.
“When I saw ‘Kaththi’, I decided to do the film. Apart from all the commercial elements, it has the hero fighting for the plights of the farmers. I’m glad this story became my 150th film. I need to thank Vijay for bringing the film to me.”
Also starring Kajal Aggarwal and Tarun, the film is slated for release on January 11.
