Patralekha, Vijay Varma team up for virtual reality web series

Actors Patralekha and Vijay Varma have been roped in to be the lead cast of “Cheers!”, a web series which will incorporate the use of virtual reality technology.

Brought out by SpectraVR, a virtual reality media production company which uses the latest 360 degree camera techniques and software capabilities, the series will revolve around a group of friends in Goa exploring the dynamics of navigating through adulthood and the woes that come along with it in today’s time.

“CityLights” actress Patralekha will be seen playing the role of a girl who undergoes a massive transition from a teenager to a young lady and who regains her confidence over the years. Vijay, who is currently in the news for his latest film “Pink”, also has a key role in the web series.

Talking about her role in the show, Patralekha said in a statement: “I chose to do this because I could relate to my character and her transition from a teenager to a young adult.”

“SpectraVR specialises in virtual reality content and when I saw what the show would look like, I was amazed and decided I just had to be part of this one,” she added.

Slated to release sometime in November this year, the five-episode web series will be a step towards creating world class quality content using the best technology available and engaging the consumers in every part.
