Singers will be out of business soon: Harshi Mad

Published on

Britain-born singer Harshi Mad says that since some of the Bollywood actors are now singing their own songs, playback singers will soon go to out of business.

Harshi told IANS: “We do get jealous sometimes. Sometimes, we wish to do the singing as well as acting. I did get lucky once. For one of the songs with singer Mika Singh, he let me feature in the video as well. That was a great opportunity.”

“Nowadays, actresses are singing. So, singers are going to be out of business soon. Singers should start acting,” she added.

Harshi finds it “threatening” that actors are venturing into singing.

“As it is it’s difficult for singers to get a song and if actresses are going to sing the songs, then it’s going to be more difficult. Having said that, I believe if you have the voice and the technique, then you don’t have to worry about it.”

The former participant of the popular singing reality show “Indian Idol” recently performed with actor Ranveer Singh at the special launch event of the upcoming film “Befikre” at Bradford, England.

She said, “He (Ranveer) is so energetic and he is so amazing. He was 20 minutes on stage and he was just entertaining the audience. His energy level is amazing.”
