MP cum director Sukumaran recently spoke about his film Ramanam. The director, who is known for making thought-provoking films like Aparahnam, said that the movie is based on the book Smarakashilakal, penned by Punathil Kunjabdulla. He ensured that Ramanam’s setting was between the 70s and 90s because he wanted to see why Muslims were separated from the rest of the society. According to him, films must always represent the politics of the age they are set in.
