March 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Mohanlal starrer Swapnamalika, which has been in production for a while now, is finally nearing completion.
The movie started off with a gusto that was lost midway. The early portions of the film were shot quickly at Haridwar. Later, Mohanlal seemed to have grown tired of the film, making it hard for his director, K A Devaraj to finish the movie. Devaraj has managed to get the movie close to completion by making some key changes in the screenplay, which don’t require the superstar to be present in a lot of scenes.
At present, the remaining shoot is on at Ottapalam. Swapnamalika also stars foreign actress Elena. She plays the character Radha Karmel who comes to India after the death of her Indian lover and meets Mohanlal’s character at Haridwar.
Elena is surprised that Mohanlal, despite being a superstar, is devoid of starry airs and is extremely grounded and down-to-earth. She will be returning to Italy sometime soon, with memories and the experience of working with the Malayalam film industry.
