Upendra becomes the first star of Sandalwood to perform on an item number in a film and the actor has no regrets of doing a cameo in Mast Majaa Madi. Upendra opines that if Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan can do it, he also can. Upendra danced with 12 heroines in a song in Mast Majaa Madi which is the highlight of the film.
The heroines in the song are Andrita Ray, Sharmila Mandre, Keerthi Chawla, Gauri Munjal, Shireen, Ragini, Sanjana, Mahi, Suman Ranganath, Ramanitu Chowdhary, Naitanya and Rekha. The song was shot at the famous Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Apparently producer Soundarya Jagdish was inspired by the song ‘Om Shanti Om Shanti Om’ where Shahrukh danced along with many artists of Bollywood.
