Portraying Sridevi in NTR Biopic is An Honor says Rakul Preet

Multi-Lingual Actress Rakul Preet graced the star-studded Lux Golden Rose Petal Awards last night here in Mumbai. During her media interaction, the actress said playing the role of Sridevi in NTR Biopic is a matter of honor for her.

Actress Rakul Preet has been roped in to portray the role of late actress Sridevi in forthcoming NTR Biopic, now titled Kathanayakudu, is based on actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s life.
Sridevi, who died earlier this year, had started her acting career with the Southern film industry. As a teenager, she co-starred with NTR in several of his films, including super-hits such as Vetagaadu, Kondaveeti Simham, Justice Chowdhary and Bobbili Puli.
Talking about the film, Rakul Preet said, “I think it is a matter of honor for me that I am playing her role in the film. And it comes with a lot of responsibility and I really hope I can do justice to the part in the NTR Biopic”
“The kind of role Sri Devi ji played in his life, because she debuted with NTR. They both did 16-18 films together, so it is that role and I really can’t talk much about it but do watch out for the film in theaters”
Apart from NTR Biopic, Rakul Preet recently bagged the leading role in Marjaavaan. The film, which was announced recently, stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, and Tara Sutaria along with Rakul.
Talking about the film, Rakul quipped that she will be pushing the envelope with the role in the film and she is really excited about sharing the screen space with Sidharth Malhotra again.
She said, “The film has been just announced, so it is too early to talk about it. I am really very excited to work with Sidharth Malhotra again. I am very excited about the film as this character is very different and it will definitely push the envelope. So both the film, De De Pyaar De and Marjaavaan, are very different roles and I am just looking forward to both of them”
De De Pyaar De is an upcoming romantic comedy film written and co-produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali which marks his directorial debut. It features Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles.
