17th Star Screen Awards 2011 Is Back Again

January 7, 2011 : The 17th edition of Star Screen Awards, 2011 is back with a bang. The Star Screen Awards honours the best talent in the industry. The year 2010 belonged to Salman Khan who managed to give  a blockbuster hit in the form of Dabangg. Salman Khan was crowned the best actor for his role of Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg. Shahrukh Khan was judged  the best actor for My name is Khan by popular choice. Katrina Kaif was voted as the best actress by popular choice.

Vidya Balan made it as the best actress for her power packed performances in Ishqiya. The film Ishqiya was a low budget movie but managed to leave an impression with the audiences due to its unusual storyline. Udann was judged as the best film as it was a youth centric film .The Director of Udann, Vikramaditya Motwane  also received the trophy for the Best Director.

The latest entrant to Bollywood, Ranveer Singh of Band Baaja Baaraat fame received the trophy for the Most Promising Newcomer (Male).Ranveer Singh starred opposite to Anushka Sharma in the film which went on to be a runaway hit. The most Promising Newcomer (female) crown undoubtedly went to Sonakshi Sinha for Dabangg who has been dubbed as the best thing to have happened in Bollywood. Ajay Devgan made it as the Best Performer of the year for his comedy Golmaal 3.
