The film Padman is inspired by the life of Coimbatore-based Arunachalam Muruganantham, a pioneer who made sanitary napkins affordable for women in India.
Padman is directed by R. Balki, it also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles and Amitabh Bachchan appears in a special role.
Amit Trivedi and Komail Shayan scored the music of the film, with the former composing the film score and latter composing the songs.
The movie is slated for Republic Day release, 26th January 2018.
