Akshay Kumar unveils the first look poster of his upcoming social drama, Padman, which talks about another taboo subject in Indian society, sanitary pads!
The superstar released the poster on social media. He captioned it, “Not all superheroes come with capes! Bringing you the true story of a real superhero, #Padman this Republic Day – 26th January 2018!”
Akshay Kumar’s last outing, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, was a huge success at the box office and the movie addressed the social issue of sanitization. The movie promoted cleanliness in the society. Padman is the next step in social awareness movie trend, the film tells the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low-cost sanitary pad making machine.
The movie Padman is based on the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham and his struggle and inspiration in life.
On the poster, Akshay Kumar once again will be seen in a non-glamorous avatar. He is riding a bicycle with his lunchbox hanging on the handle and he is raising his hands in the air.
Padman also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles. The movie is helmed by R Balki with Twinkle Khanna and Gauri Shinde as the producers.
The movie will hit the theaters on January 26, 2018.
