Amitabh Bachchan Urges UTV And Disney For Shoebite Release

Published on

Amitabh Bachchan urges UTV and Disney to put aside their differences and let the Shoojit Sircar directorial Shoebite release, as it is a novel story.

Despite having megastars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sarika, Dia Mirza, Jimmy Shergill and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Shoebite, which is directed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie hasn’t released and now Big B urge makers to set aside their difference and let the movie release.
Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media account and wrote, “YES…utv & Disney… put aside the internal debate, issues, or personal view points and give this labour of love from Shoojit Sircar a chance for others to appreciate this novel story and film… PLEASE”
The movie hasn’t seen the light of day even after four years thanks to the producers. Shoojit Sircar is miffed with UTV Motion Pictures for not ensuring the release of their film Shoebite and says the way they have treated the film it’s an insult to the superstar.
Shoebite is the story of a man in his early 60s named John Pereira who sets out on a journey of self-discovery. It is directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by UTV Motion Pictures. The lyrics are penned by Gulzar.
Percept Picture Company announced a film called Johnny Walker starring Bachchan and directed by Sircar, but the film was never made. Sircar took the film to UTV Motion Pictures, renaming it Shoebite. Percept filed a lawsuit against UTV seeking to prevent Shoebite from being made. After a long legal battle, the lawsuit was dismissed in 2012.
