Makers of ‘Daddy’ hosted special screening of their film on Wednesday in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities like Arjun Rampal, Ashim Ahluwalia, Rajesh Shrigarpure, Nishikant Kamat, Chunky Pandey, Bhavna Pandey, Mehr Jesia Rampal, Surily Goel, Kailash Surendranath, Aarti Surendranath attended special screening of the film.

Here is what celebrities had to say about the film –

Arjun Rampal – We are receiving great response for the film. People in North don’t know about Arun Gawli so it was necessary that people should know about him in North as well and now people are excited to see film based on his life.”

Talking about pressure while doing the film, Arjun said, “Everyday, there was a pressure while shooting of the film. This film is like pressure cooker because it’s a tense subject. We had to take permission of lot many people before making this film. This film has huge cast and it is set 2-3 periods, so to bring authenticity in that part was difficult task but I am very happy with the end result.”

“It’s the most difficult film that I have done. It’s a tough character to play because it’s a portrayal of a person who is living so I hope I justified it and audience will like this film.”

Chunky Pandey – We live in Mumbai. So I really heard a lot about daddy (Arun Gawli). We have made so many films on underworld but I think it will be a genuine story. We have seen film on Dawood Ibrahim and now it time to see film on Arun Gawli. I have seen work of this film’s director. He makes genuine films. Arjun has worked really hard for this film and I am really looking forward to see this film.

Ashim Ahluwalia – I am really happy as I am not producer of this film as I am the director of the film so I am not feeling any kind of pressure with this film but jokes apart, I am very happy and proud of this film. I hope everybody loves it because it’s a different film. It is not typical gangster movie. It’s a real film of real character. From the initial response which I received, I am really happy with it as it has been so good right from the trailer release and now release of the film itself.

The film stars Arjun Rampal, who also co-wrote the film, portraying gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli. It also stars South Indian actress Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role.

Daddy is presented by Kundalini Entertainment and Karta Entertainment and directed by Ashim Ahluwalia.

Daddy is releasing on 8 September, 2017.
