Tamannaah Bhatia, who featured in the blockbuster Baahubali last year and this year, said she feels that festivals are more about giving thanks than asking from the Lord.
She sang a passion filled Aarti to welcome Lord Ganesh and said she looks forward to meeting friends and family on the occasion.
“We have been celebrating for the last 29 years now since I think when my brother was born. Every year it is a big deal because it feels like we are starting our year from here and we hope for positive and good beginnings. We pray for happiness and peace for our house for the world. This occasion brings the chance for our family and friends to spend time together. I am looking forward to meeting everyone since I am mostly away from home.”
She further added, “I think more than asking for something it is about thanking him for everything that I have. This year I especially wanted to spend more time with family and I am able to do it so I want to thank him for this time.”
When asked about being rooted to the culture of our country Tamannaah said, “This year I was at the India Parade in New York that happens every year. At that time I found out, there are so many Indian abroad who are connected to their roots. Here also we get to celebrate every festival with the same enthusiasm and the same happiness. I think that is important that we respect all faiths and beliefs.
Personally, I believe God is one there are just different names. I think I am very lucky to be an Indian, our culture is very rich. I work for Tamil and Telugu films so I had to chance to learn their language, there are many more, the list is endless but I think I am lucky and very proud to be India.”
Tamannaah will be seen in ‘Khamoshi’ directed by Chakri Toleti which is a remake of south yet to release film ‘Kolaiyuthir Kaalam’.
