Film Fraternity Support MS Dhoni

The controversy surrounding the ICC taking objection to former Team India captain MS Dhoni wearing the ‘Balidaan Badge’ of his Para regiment on his wicket-keeping gloves at the World Cup has found unprecedented support across all film fraternity.

Noted film personalities, such as Riteish Deshmukh, Rahul Dev, Sudheer Babu along with millions of fans have come out in support of MS Dhoni on social media.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh took to his social media profile and shared, “?Indian Army has always been independent irrespective of the political party in power. We are proud of them. Lt. Col. @msdhoni has worn the Army insignia as a symbol of pride. Doesn’t hurt anyone’s sentiments, In fact it honours the brave #DhoniKeepTheGlove #WorldCup2019”
Actor Rahul Dev also supported MS Dhoni and slammed World Cup Umpires for making bad decisions. He shared, “?Dear all at @ICC ,when you are done with which symbol a legendary cricketer (read MS Dhoni) wears on his glove, pls do take time to check out the standard of umpiring. The World Cup? Really now! BTW The ‘Balidaan Badge’ doesn’t disrespect anyone. #DhoniKeepTheGlove #AUSvWI #CWC19”
South Indian actor Sudheer Babu also supported the former Indian skipper. He wrote, “?Not that I am against, but have seen players performing religious activities on the ground, the English wear three lions, which is a political symbol…Rules have to stop everything, if they have to @ICC…No matter what, I will stand by @msdhoni’s decision. #DhoniKeepTheGlove”
MS Dhoni was seen wearing the gloves with Indian Army insignia on his gloves during the India-South Africa clash in World Cup 2019. The gesture – a tribute to the Indian Army and especially the PARA Special Forces – was well appreciated by Indian fans. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday requested the BCCI to have the badge removed, saying it is against its regulations.
However, Indian fans were not impressed by ICC’s request and urged the former Indian captain to keep wearing the gloves. #DhoniKeepTheGlove soon became one of the top trends on Twitter in India.
