‘Gully Boy’ goes on floor in January 2018 says Zoya Akhtar

Zoya Akhtar was spotted at the Success Party of Film ‘Fukrey Returns’ on Monday in Mumbai. During media interaction, she talked about ‘Gully Boy’ and revealed the movie will go on floor in January.

Zoya was asked about the progress of her upcoming film ‘Gully Boy’, she said, ‘We will start rolling from January so towards the end of next year it will be ready.”

The film is based on the lives of street rappers in Mumbai and will have brother Farhan’s penned dialogues. Talking about the film’s cast other than Ranveer Singh she said, “Ranveer will be opposite Alia Bhatt and so far other cast members are Amrita Subhash, Vijay Raaz, Sheeba Chaddha, there are more coming in.”

The ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ director shared her views on the film ‘Fukrey Returns’: “Its unapologetic fun, I like what he has done with the characters and carried them on to the next film. You must watch, it’s a laugh. I liked their performances, all 4 of them and Richa Chadda.”

When asked to comment on the news of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding Zoya said, “I don’t actually know about it” on confirmation she added “then I congratulate them and wish them the best”

The director recently finished shooting for a short film with Bombay Talkies and started shooting for ‘Made in Heaven’ web series with Amazon.

Zoya Akhtar’s Amazon Prime web-series, ‘Made in Heaven’s’ shooting is currently underway in Delhi. The 10 episode series produced by Akhtar, revolves around the competition between two wedding firms.
