Not all bestsellers can be picturised and turn out a hit. Well Hello is one of this kind. It is definitely give a poor show at the Box office. The second venture by Atul Agnihotri along with the author of the bestseller, Chetan Bhagat, the movie is based on One Night @ The Call Centre. The screenplay and scripting lacks the essentials to hold the audience’s attention. A good one hour is wasted on introducing the characters, over whom the storyline revolves.
Movie: Hello
Cast: Arbaaz Khan, Isha Koppikar, Sharat Saxena, Gul Panag, Suresh Menon, Dalip Tahil, Sharman Joshi, Sohail Khan, Amrita Arora, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Katrina Kaif
Director: Atul Agnihotri
Rating: 1/5
The movie drags for another part till the interval and then there is some movement but it is still what it should be. All of sudden everything seems to go perfect for all the characters. There is no gradual move in the sketching of the characters or the weaving of the stories around them.
The characters are those of Shyam (played by Sharman Joshi) who is going through a bad patch in his career and in the process of losing his girl friend (Gul Panag) as her mother is all in a rush to get married off to a rich NRI. Then there is an aspiring model Esha (Isha Koppikar) awaiting for a break. Her boyfriend is Varun (Sohail Khan) who loves her very much, but she has no time for him except focussed more on her career.
There is Arbaaz playing the role of a husband to Radhika (Amrita Rao), who is having an affair while poor Radhika is the harrassed wife and daughter in law. When things are not very rosy for all these call centre personnel, suddenly there is a call – from God! The movie screenplay has not been handled professionally and lacks the required development. The call centre staff looks more like college kids at work. The customers from overseas sound so crude and silly than belonging to the executive cadre!
Salman and Katrina make their appearances only for a few minutes and having Salman out on all the posters seems so misleading. There are a couple of songs for which both Salman and Katrina come individually and that is about all.
The only good pick of all the actors are Sharman and Sohail who come across convincing. The rest are so-so. Monty Sharma’s music is ok. An overall boring film and one can avoid watching it.
