Vivek Oberoi, who made his Tamil debut with ‘Vivegam’ says hindi films have failed to break records as south films do.
Vivek Oberoi made his Tamil acting debut in ‘Vivegam’. The film is written and directed by Siva in which Vivek plays the antogonist opposite superstar Ajith Kumar.
While talking about the film and its sucess the actor said, “Like my film ‘Vivegam’, it is a Tamil film and it has broken so many records on opening day. It has done 38 Cr, business worldwide, which biggest Hindi films fails to do so.”
Vivek further added,“There is no-comparison left because the biggest Hindi blockbuster is actually a Telugu dubbed film Baahubali 2. No one has broken its box-office record. I think the division of Language is finished now. This south, west, north and east division is over now. Now if the film is good, it will run.”
Vivek Oberoi after being away from the big screen has made his comeback. The actor is working in web-series and made his acting debut in Tollywood. The actor also added that “language” change-over was a challenging.
“I had great experience working on the film. It is a huge film, the action level is top notch. It was a little difficult for me as I had to learn and understand Tamil and deliver my dialogue in the language, so I was struggling a little bit . I worked really hard; I learnt my dialogues before every shot and had to get it right. it is challenging to understand the meaning and dialect as well.” added Vivek.
Vivek also quipped that with his first release, he is flooded with offers but he is being very selective about the whole process.
“I am getting a lot of offers. I am getting so many phone calls saying that we’re planning a film and we would like to play such and such role. Generally I do very few films. I do 1-2 movies in a year, so let’s see if I get a good film on large scale with good role, I will do it” added Vivek.
Written and directed by Siva, the movie also features Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in supporting roles. The movie is running successfully across India and overseas.
