I consider myself lucky that story of 83 chose me says Kabir Khan

Ace Filmmaker Kabir Khan attended Miss Diva Grand Finale as a judge on Wednesday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Khan stated that he considers himself lucky that story like ‘83’ chose him to make a film on it.

Kabir Khan is all set to present 1983 Indian Cricket team’s world cup saga onscreen starring Ranveer Singh who is playing Indian cricket team skipper Kapil Dev who majorly contributed in India’s 1983 world cup victory . When asked Khan about feeling to direct an iconic story from history of India, he said, “’83’ is very special project to me. I feel it’s more than a film. We keep making films and I will continue making films but there are some projects which comes to you which are much above of films and our individual career and ‘83’ is that kind of project. “

“I consider myself lucky that the story of this film chose me because it would have gone to any film director. It’s a spectacular true story based on true heroes of Indian cricketing history and I am really eager to present this story for the audience”

Two day back Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati trailer released on YouTube and till now it has crossed 24 millions views and it trending on top in YouTube so when asked Khan about trailer of Padmavati and his upcoming films hero Ranveer Singh’s look in it, Khan said, “I really liked the trailer and look of Ranveer. I am really fond of Ranveer and I am doing my next film with Ranveer so I was waiting for Padmavat’s trailer to release. It’s absolutely magnificent. It’s on international scale, story of the film is looking really interesting and setting is also very interesting. Trailer of Padmavati is trending on YouTube since its release so I wish all the best to Ranveer, Deepika and Sanjay sir.”

Talking about judging Miss Diva Contest, Kha said, “This is second time, I am judging a beauty pageant. Two years back, I judged Miss India pageant. It was really interesting evening. This platform gives opportunities to girls to represent India on an international platform and our girls always made us so I am looking forward to this evening”

Talking about beauty pageant and Bollywood connection, khan said, “From platforms like Miss Diva and Miss India, lot of girls comes to film industry. Well known performers like Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza came from such platform. As a director we are always looking for fresh and new talent so today I think, I will find fresh talent at this event”

Recently, Supreme Court of India, banned sale of fire-crackers in Delhi and NCR region till November 1, talking about Supreme Court’s landmark decision, Khan said, “ I am totally agree with this decision. There are some people who disappointed that they cannot burn fire-crackers but I think we have to be aware towards our environment because pollution directly affects children. Children like to burn fire-crackers but it directly affects their health so I feel it’s completely wise decision on Supreme Court’s part”

Kabir Khan directed ‘83’ is backed by Vishnu Vardhan Induri of Vibri Media and founder of CCL, along with Phantom Films.

Apart from Ranveer, the casting of the other cricket players is currently in process. The film will be shot at real locations and will go on floors early next year.
