I have always been told I am an unconventional actress says Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin who was announced as Oriflame Ambassador on Tuesday. During media interaction at the event she said, she has always been told I am an unconventional actress.

Kalki is known as a strong independent woman and as many young admirers when asked what beauty means to her, and what advice would she have for all her admirers, Kalki said, “Beauty is such a vast thing and we tend to look at it from a very commercial angle. Uniqueness is another form of beauty and what you stand out in, makes you beautiful. I have always been told I am an unconventional actress and I have embraced it because it is who I am. That’s actually why I am sitting here today as the Oriflame Ambassador. There is a place for beauty which is not necessarily the exterior appearance and you have to own your personality.”

When asked Kalki about what beautiful change would she like to bring in Bollywood, she said, “I think it has actually already started happening, writing should have a lot more priority. Because content is king especially with the content that web has started bringing. We should honor our writers and give them a lot of importance because good writers are what make good movies.”

Kalki was asked what is the essential thing that woman needs today to be like her, she said, “The most essential thing is confidence that we need to have. We are living in a society now where we have education, we have jobs for women but we still lack confidence. I know a lot of women who feel the pressure to get married, and once they get married they feel they should stop working for a while. This is all because there are certain laws and things that are patriarchal like for example we have maternal leave but not paternal leave. I feel that this domestic responsibility needs to be shared more at home in order for it to be shared in the office environment too. You can’t have women being empowered in office but not at home. “

The second is an independent film directed by Rakhee Sandilya, which is titled ‘Rainbow’ and will release in November.”

Kalki was last seen as a director and an actress in ‘A Death in the Gunj’ and as an actress in ‘Mantra’ in 2016.
