On Wednesday, Aadar Jain, the new talent from Yash Raj Films, is the son of Raj Kapoor’s daughter Reema Jain. Aadar, who is 22-years-old, introduced by his cousin Ranbir Kapoor and actress Anushka Sharma later introduced debutante Anya Singh from Delhi. Aadar and Anya will be directed by Habib Faisal in their first film. While speaking at the event, Aadar stated that he hopes that he can play small part in terms of contribution to Indian cinema being a part of Bollywood’s most prestigious Kapoor family.
Kapoor family is termed as India’s first film family, whose last 4 generation is contributing towards Indian cinema, when asked him about how he will carry forward Kapoor legacy, Aadar replied, “I will try my best to make them proud with best of my abilities. I wanted to become actor because I was interested in acting and my love for cinema. It wasn’t because my family. My brother Ranbir, my uncle Rishi Kapoor, my paternal grandfather Raj Kapoor and my great grandfather, they all have achieved so much. They are such fine actors and they all have been accepted by audience so gratefully so I hope, in small way I can play my part, apart from that, I just want to enjoy what I do”.
Aadar added that, “I have studied acting and direction from New York Film Academy and I got this role after almost 3 months of rigorous auditioning with Yashraj Films”
When asked about what kind of films he wanted to do in future, he said, “I want to do all types of films be it action, comedy. I am fond of all kind of films so I don’t have one set or kind of movies that I want to part of or kind of genre that I want to work in”.
He also answered when asked about any kind of pressure, insecurities or apprehension as an actor, “Right now I am not thinking about any kind of pressure or apprehension. I am aware that there will be pressure and apprehension when you put in so much of hard in a film”.
“When your film doesn’t work then obviously it’s a bad feeling but you have to pick yourself up and remember why you are here. I feel constantly believing in you is the only thing you can do with yourself”.
Inn Bollywood, Ranbir is known for his comedy and naughty image, Rishi Kapoor for his romantic image and Raj Kapoor for his innocence onscreen so when asked about what to whom you will follow, he said, “I am so new to all this at this point so I don’t know about my strengths and weaknesses but I want to just keep growing. It’s an outside perception to look someone and say what they are good at. I am still learning and growing so in future will see how it goes but I definitely want to imbibe those qualities what they have in acting”
When asked about what advice his grandmother Krishna and his cousin Kareena gave him before shooting for the film, he said, “My grandmother just said take god’s name, cherish and enjoy the moment as it will never come again in your life and my cousin Kareena said just break a leg so I am trying to do that”
When asked about actress whom he likes and wants to work in future, he said, “I like Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Nargis Dutt and Kareena Kapoor and I want to work with all of them and with Kareena I can do brother-sister film.”
Ranbir has been infamous for his alleged love affairs so when asked Aadar what piece of advice he received from Ranbir about that, he said, “I haven’t take any advice about that from anybody. I understand that these things happen in this industry. It all comes with the territory. I am ready whatever is coming my way. I feel most important thing is being truthful and good to your work. Speculations will keep happening and you can’t do much about that”.
Aadar will be the fifth Kapoor of his generation to seek his fortune in the family business – his cousins Karisma, Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor are actors of renown, and his elder brother Armaan Jain also took the plunge in 2014’s Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, named after a song starring Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor. The film flopped, aborting the careers of three first-timers – Armaan, actress Deeksha Seth who was making her Hindi language debut, and director Arif Ali, brother of Imtiaz Ali.
