Sanjay Suri whose film Shab is releasing this Friday revealed that earlier he was going to play the role of Ashish Bisht.

While talking about working with Raveena in the film, Sanjay said, “15 years ago when we thought of this story, from that time, Raveena has been part of this film but in the mean time we made some other movies so when Onir thought to make Shab. We all immediately agreed to be part of this film. Raveena was always in Onir’s mind when he was writing story of this film. I was going to do role of Ashish Bisht but during those 15 years, I got bit older so we decide to take a younger boy in the form of Ashish” said Sanjay Suri at the special screening of Film Shab on Wednesday.

Sanjay Suri, Shab’s producer also spoke about the poster and the trailer of the film said, “Poster is a static medium and through this, you can express story of your film to some extent. We always face the challenge to cut off trailer of 2 minutes which would only give a sneak peak of the film. But the film is of 2 hours and the trailer doesn’t do justice to the story of the film.”

“It just had a motive to give idea about the basic storyline. In Shab, there are so many layers and dimension to the story that I feel trailer can’t give much idea about the film” he further added.

Ashish Bisht who is playing the main lead in the film said it was his childhood dream to work in Bollywood. “I am very excited and nervous for my debut film but feeling happy at the same time. It was my dream since childhood to work in Bollywood. I am eager to know the reaction of audience. It is really a good thing for us to get support from industry people.”

Shab is a story of a coffee shop girl Raina (Arpita Chatterjee) and the man who loves her Afzar(Ashish Bisht) an aspiring model. Sonal (Raveena Tandon) is a fashion patron who becomes his mentor. The film centers on their intense human relationship in terms love, hurt and power. Shab is set to release in theaters on 14 July, 2017.
