Now audience is keen to watch realistic stories and characters. Mass connect of realistic films has been increased but I feel earlier also we used to make good movies when filmmakers like Hrishi Da (Hrishikesh Mukherjee), Vimal Roy sir, Shyam Babu (Shyam Benegal) and Govind Nihalani sir used to make content driven films but that wasn’t able to reach the audience because at that time, cinema screens were less in numbers and now, number of film screen has been increased in our country in form of multiplex cinema so it is one of the reason that content driven films are being accepted by audience as people have the option to watch various kind of films”

My film ‘Shahid’ and ‘Aligarh’ has been screened at MAMI and now my upcoming film will also screened at MAMI so I share very old association with MAMI. I am very happy that we have festival like MAMI and that too in our own city like Mumbai and its is continuing every year which is fantastic”
