It shows that you just have to will it and be ready at all time says Rekha on the film journey of Divya Khosla Kumar

Actress and filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar hosted special screening of her latest short film ‘Bulbul’ for legendary actress Rekha on Monday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Rekha said that from Divya’s journey it shows that you just have to will it and be ready at all time.

Divya Khosla Kumar started her career from modeling and then she turned actress and after that she directed and produced two films and few music videos for T-Series, talking about Divya Khosla Kumar’s latest short film ‘Bulbul’ and her transition from actress to filmmaker, legendary actress Rekha said, “I think Divya needs encouragement. She is living example of time is not essence here. It’s not the question of time. Any person can do anything at any time. You just have will it and be ready at all time”

Talking about her latest short film, Diya said, “As a creative person, I always like to challenge myself. ‘Bulbul’s character has been written by filmmaker Kundan Shah. It’s his last piece of work so its tribute to him also because we were working with him from February this year and we started this film in October but during that time unfortunately, he passed away. He has been a legendary filmmaker. I feel audience will like this film. I am getting positive response for the film from audience and few filmmakers”

Talking about plot and character which Divya playing in ‘Bulbul’, she said,”It’s a 20 minute short film. It has been released on YouTube. Bulbul is very dramebaaz character and to woo her love interest she does lot of drama and dons various get ups but my personal favorite is Sardar’s (Sikh) role as I had fun playing that character”

Divya hosted special screening of her short film to legendary actress Rekha, sharing reason behind it, Divya said, “I did a song named ‘Kabhi Yaadon Mein’ which released in January so during that time I met her at the success part of ‘Dangal’ that time she praised my effort in that song and she said I want to see more of you onscreen so to receive praise from legendary actress like her was an amazing feeling. She promised me that whenever you will do your next project, I will come and launch it for you so when I contacted her she quickly agreed to be here”

“I have been always inspired from Rekha ji. She had amazing journey as an actress and we have learnt a lot watching her onscreen and of course she inspires all of us”

When asked to whom she will show this movie, Divya said, “I think everybody should see this film. I have shown this film to Rajkumar Hirani , Abbas-Mustan and Anees Bazmee. All of them really liked it. I want to show this film at least to filmmakers because I have grown creatively more as a filmmaker and I have worked more behind the camera. I have directed 2 films and it has been different route for me”

Talking about her next projects, Divya said, “I have been busy in the making of ‘Bulbul’ because we have shot this film as big film although it’s a 20 minute film but now I am working on a film and if I get an opportunity then I want to act as well”

Reacting to Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma wedding, Divya said, “It’s such a beautiful surprise and I would like wish them all the very best. Both them are such good and strong personalities in their respective field so it’s nice to see such beautiful couple together”

‘Bulbul’ also stars Shiv Pandit and Elli Avram in key roles. It is being directed by Ashish Panda and produced by T-Series films & Divya Khosla Kumar.
