Kangana Ranaut graced the Grand Finale of Peter England Mr. India 2017 at a spectacular ceremony held in Mumbai at Bandra Fort on Thursday evening. During her media interaction, Kangana expressed that she is really proud of Manushi Chhillar, especially for the fact that she comes from state infamous of “Harassment” and “Crime” against women.
“I am small town girl and played a Haryanvi in a film, I am really proud of Manushi Chillar achievements and of course Mr. World Winner as well, but she is definitely a quintessential Miss world. She is science student, highly educated, she is really very smart and she comes from a small town, especially Haryana, which is infamous for harassment against women and crime against women and she has made us so proud that we’ve no words to express our gratitude for such a bright, young women that we have in our country” said Kangana Ranaut during her media interaction at the event.
Kangana Ranaut played the role of Haryanvi girl in “Tanu Weds Manu” in which she highlighted some of the socially relevant issues in the state of Haryana.
Further, Kangana added that India has two international crowns, which has definitely increased expectations from Mr. India contestant for international wins.
“It was great. I came here to congratulate the winner. And as we all know that this year we’ve won two international crowns, so definitely we have a lot of expectations from our current winners as well”
Further adding Kangana added that participating in any field to make country proud is an act of patriotism.
“To participate in all fields and you know make our country proud in all kind of competitions and platforms is an act of patriotism, I think, we should encourage it”
Actress Kangana also added she is proud of the young and talented lot participating in the competition and she is sure they will make country proud.
“All these young men, who are here tonight, they have amazing presence and amazing persona, and they are very charming as well and I am sure they are going to make us proud” added Kangana.
Lucknow boy Jitesh Singh Deo bagged the coveted title of Peter England Mr. India 2017, Prathamesh Maulingkar won the title of Peter England Mr. India Supranational 2017, followed by Abhi Khajuria and Pavan Rao, who won the titles of Peter England Mr. India 1st Runner-Up and Peter England Mr. India 2nd Runner-Up, respectively.
On the work front, Kangana is busy with “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” – which is an upcoming epic biographical film about the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. It is being directed by National Award Winning Director Krish.
Kangana Ranaut plays the title role of Rani Laxmibai. The film is scheduled for release on 27 April 2018.
