The terrorist attacks in Mumbai have led to many negative effects. Quite understandably so. The dreadful mass killing spree and the city turning into a war zone attracted international attention.
The attacks have negatively affected the entire film industry. The latest is that the Live Earth Concert that was supposed to take place in the country’s financial capital on December 7 has probably been cancelled.
Bon Jovi and Roger Waters were supposed to perform and were to share the stage with Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Niigaam, the ‘Rock On!!’ team which included Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal as well as Hrithik Roshan.
But things are unlikely to be same after what has been called ‘one of the bloodiest terrorist attacks in Indian history’.
According to sources, “People associated with the Live Earth concert that was being organised by Wizcraft has been sent a mail that reads that the show is not taking off. The mail was only meant for internal consumption. It is a high priority situation now as the concert would have seen a lot of big international faces coming down. India’s big celebs would have also landed up there and after seeing the security concern as of now the event stays cancelled. There’s too much to risk. The concert might be postponed to some other date though.”
The organizers of the event, Wizcraft say that their first concern is the safety of the staff, associates and partners of Live Earth and of course the people in Mumbai. They add that once the situation is evaluated an official statement would be released.
