‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ is about fulfilling a childhood dream says Abhimanyu Dasani

Abhimanyu Dasani who is gearing up for the film, ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota‘, says the film is about having and fulfilling a childhood dream.

Abhimanyu interacted with media at the special screening of his debut film with MAMI film festival in Mumbai on Friday, the opening night.

Talking about ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ and the idea behind it, Abhimanyu said, “The film has a lot of action and bollywood hasn’t see such action sequences in any film. The whole film is very different, it is about having a dream and fulfilling it. Whether you are 6 or 60 you have that same dream, you just pretend to grow up. So the film talks about giving that one shot to your childhood dream.”

‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ was selected as MAMI’s opening film, after its success overseas at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and scoring the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award.

When asked about how it feels to have his debut film receive so much love around the globe, Abhimanyu said, “The film has gone to the west and eat and now back in Mumbai, its the homecoming for the film. It is a lot of fun being here and the crowd is very energetic, I only hope that hey enjoy the film. We gave the movie our best, our blood sweat and soul and in return any response we get feels amazing.

We have got has truly been amazing which make me feel honored and humbled at the same time.”

Abhimanyu’s mother, former actress Bhagyashree was also present at the film’s screening.

Asked how she feels about her son’s debut and the love the film has received, she said, “I don’t have words to say, I have never seen my film on a big screen but I think when Abhimanyu will show up on the big screen I am going to be very overwhelmed. I am just speechless at this point of time. Abhimanyu has worked hard alot and the way the film has turned out I think they deserves all the credit for it.”

Vasan Bala’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota is set in the 1980s and ’90s in Mumbai and pays fond homage to martial arts films that circulated at the time The movie stars debutant actor Abhimanyu Dasani as Surya, Radhika Madan, Mahesh Manjrekar and Gulshan Devaiah.

‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’ produced by RSVP will also see a commercial release in November.
