The elder brother of popular singers and performers Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh, Renowned musician Shamsher Singh Mehndi passed away today morning; he has played an important part in making Bhangra famous worldwide.
Popular singer Daler Mehndi took to his twitter account and shared the sad news. He wrote, “With profound grief, I am having to inform u that our elder brother Ustaad Shamsher Singh passed away. Plz pray that his soul rests in peace”
Singer Mika Singh also expressed his sadness. He wrote, “Waheguru ji ka Khalsa sri Waheguru ji ki Fateh…Very sad news for our family that our older brother Ustad ShamsherSingh ji has passed away”
Within moments messages and condolences for the departed soul started to pour on social media.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee expressed his condolence of Twitter. He wrote, “My condolences to you and your family. May he rest in peace!!take care.”
Singer Pankaj Udhas also expressed his sadness. He wrote, “@MikaSingh shocked to learn about the passing away of your beloved brother Ustad Shamsher Sing our heartfelt condolences to the family”

Shamsher Singh was also a part of Daler Mehndi’s troupe and performed at many stage shows along with his brother. He is also a well-known songwriter and record producer. Recently, he was seen as the jury member on the on-going kids singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs.
