Bhumi Pednekar was present at the Lux Golden Rose Petal Awards 2017 on Sunday night. The actor hosted part of the event alongside Shah Rukh Khan and celebrated many timeless actresses of the industry. During an interaction, Bhumi said, more Power to Zaira Wasim.
Ziara Wasim spoke up about allegedly being molested while she was traveling on a Mumbai Inbound flight when asked to comment on the matter, Bhumi said, “I am really appalled, she is a child. This is a problem in our culture and our country. People think, especially if you are an actress that you are their property, and that mindset is a very big issue. I am very glad that she spoke up about it because that needs a lot of courage. More power to Zaira.”
The actress was nominated for an award at the Golden Rose Petal Awards 2017 when asked how she feels about such praise after just 3 films she said, “When you are nominated and your work is appreciated it is extremely motivating and encouraging. Especially for someone like me who has just started off and is 3 films old. And every time you are nominated or you win it feels good. I would like to thanks, everyone who nominated me.”
Talking about her upcoming film with Sushant Singh Rajput ‘Son Chiraiya’, Bhumi said, she is nervous to work on the film but it is a good thing. “The prep is going great and we are going to start very soon, it is a phenomenal script so I am really excited to start the shoot. There is a lot of nervousness especially working with Abhishek Chaubey she is such an amazing director even my co-actors are such brilliant people from the industry. Its time to up my game and I think this nervousness is good. It’s good nervous energy.”
Bhumi’s ‘Son Chiraiya’ revolves around Chambal dacoits and is set in the 1970s. Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar are both set to play dacoits in the film. Bhumi plays Sushant’s love interest.
The film will be shot in the Chambal ravines and will roll early next year.
