Jackky Bhagnani, who is currently gearing up for his upcoming short film ‘Carbon’, said both Prachi Desai and Nawazuddin Siddiqui worked for free for the film.
When asked if casting Nawazuddin was part of his plan, Jackky said, “No it was never a part of my plan. When I did think about it everyone said, he won’t be interested in working, he has been doing big films, he is a big star now. But I said he is a true actor if he listens to our concept and sees our intention then I am sure he won’t reject it. We didn’t have a budget we were all working for free.
It was my project, my baby so it’s understood that I worked for free, but when we reached out to them, they both were very generous. We didn’t charge anything, Both Prachi and Nawaz worked for free.”
Jackky, who celebrated an eco-friendly Rakhi with Sister Deepshikha Deshmukh, supported the group of people who created eco-friendly Rakhi he said, “I thought it was a great initiative and I wanted to support them. They have been working sic past three years, but they didn’t get a platform yet. If someone gets to that much-needed platform through me and that too for something that will help everyone even the planet then why not.”
When asked about what expectations Jackky has for Carbon he said, “It doesn’t matter who is behind you or with you, if you do a great job you will get a great response. If your work if average you will get an average response. Especially for people who come from film families, I feel they should work slightly harder because you have the means. You should use them and work harder, do something for the industry or for people. That’s what I am trying to do, no w time will tell if I will be successful or not.”
The film ‘Carbon’ is set in the year 2067, in future. Jackky will play the role of a man with an artificial heart. The short film will also shed light on environmental issues. The star cast includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a man from Mars, Prachi Desai, and Yashpal Sharma.
The film will release on Large Short Film’s YouTube channel.
