After solemnizing their relationship with Indian Roka Ceremony, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas hosted a special party for friends and family here in Mumbai.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas made their relationship official by sharing pictures on their respective social media profile. Nick Jonas shared photos from the roka and called Priyanka Chopra “Future Mrs. Jonas”. The couple is hosting an engagement party at her bungalow.
Parineeti Chopra and Madhu Chopra were amongst the first to arrive at Priyanka’s residence. Among others, Filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj, Anushka Dandekar, Salman Khan‘s sister Arpita Khan Sharma and her debutante husband Aayush Sharma also arrived at the party. Actress Alia Bhatt also graced the party.
Aayush Sharma wore a designer black outfit and wife Arpita wore a printed body-hugging dress looking pretty as ever. The Sky is Pink producer Siddharth Roy Kapur also arrived to congratulate the couple.
After months of speculation, Priyanka and Nick on Saturday solemnized their relationship with a traditional Indian ‘roka’ ceremony.
Priyanka, 36, and Nick, 25, looked every bit ‘desi’ in traditional Indian wear for the ceremony, which was attended by their close family members and friends. Nick’s parents, mother Denise and father Kevin Jonas Sr, flew down from the US with their son for the occasion, and also dressed in Indian wear for the celebrations.
Nick wore a pristine white kurta churidar as he performed the ‘puja’. It was a Ganpati Puja, said Kamal Kumar Mishra and Pradip Kumar Trivedi, the two priests who took care of the ‘roka’ proceedings. Nick performed all the rituals here as per ‘Sanatam Dharam’, the priests added.
While there was a buzz that Nick proposed to Priyanka on her 36th birthday on July 18, news had followed that he got a Tiffany & Co. store in London shut down to purchase an engagement ring for his lady love.
Priyanka is a former Miss World, who established her space in the Hindi film industry with a slew of impressive projects like “Fashion”, “Mary Kom”, “Barfi!”, “Bajirao Mastani” and “7 Khoon Maaf”. She forayed into the international showbiz world with a singing career, and eventually landed the lead role in American TV show “Quantico”.
