“Padmaavat” actor Ranveer Singh is proud and excited to be part of multi starrer Takht, which is announced today!
Dharma Production head Karan Johar just confirmed a historical magnum opus film titled Takht, starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

Moments later, Ranveer Singh also confirmed the film and wrote, “Proud, excited & honoured to be a part of KARAN JOHAR’S MULTI-STARRER HISTORICAL MAGNUM OPUS. #TAKHT @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @DharmaMovies”
The historical magnum opus is based on the Mughal dynasty and is primarily a story of two brothers. Vicky Kaushal plays Ranveer Singh’s brother, Aurangzeb, in the film while Kareena Kapoor Khan will essay the role of Ranveer Singh’s character’s sister, Jahanara Begum’s role. Alia Bhatt will play Ranveer’s love interest in Takht. Ranveer Singh will be seen in the role of Dara Shukoh.
Interestingly, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are also working in Gully Boy.
