Secret superstar’s director Advait Chandan was spotted celebrating Zaira Wasim’s birthday Monday. During media interaction, Advait said, Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar and Kabir Khan’s love for Secret Superstar is overwhelming.
The director when talking about fraternity’s response revealed that his ideal director’s like Rajkumar Hirani love his first film secret superstar, “The fact that it was already declared a hit on the weekend is a big deal. It all feels very surreal to me. I was shocked when I got a call from Rajkumar Hirani at 2 am in the morning. He called me after watching the film, he loved the film so much that we were discussing in detail about some scenes from the film that he really liked.”
He further added, “For me, it was a big deal that a director that I have tried to copy and become like is now appreciating my work. The fact that people like Mr. Hirani, Mansoor Khan, Karan Johar and Kabir Khan have said such nice things, is very overwhelming.”
Advait while talking about film said, “The exciting part is that we have given people an experience where they could laugh, cry and connect.”
‘Secret Superstar’ is a story of a girl who dreams big to be a singer, but is held by the pressure of her family, therefore, secretly reaches her audience on social media. The role of the aspiring singer has been played by Zaira Wasim.
The film has been helmed by debut director Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios, and Akash Chawla.
