Bollywood’s newly married couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who hosted a second wedding reception on Wednesday in Mumbai, stunned in royal ensembles by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, and Rohit Bal, respectively.
Breaking her tradition of wearing Sabyasachi at her wedding functions – she wore a lehenga by the designer for her Anand Karaj ceremony in Italy – Deepika chose to wear an ivory and gold chikankari sari. Sharing a picture of the couple on their Instagram page, the designers Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla wrote, “@deepikapadukone is an absolute dream in this gorgeous Ivory and Gold Chikankari ensemble.”
Ranveer, meanwhile, wore a Rohit Bal ensemble. The actor had previously worn Bal at the Bengaluru reception, as well, along with the rest of his family. Ranveer had worn Sabyasachi at the wedding, like Deepika. Sharing the official image on his Instagram, Rohit Bal Couture, the designer wrote, “Ranveer Singh in ROHITBALCOUTURE . #congratulations to the Most Beautiful Couple # God Bless you both with eternal happiness and forever love.”
Ranveer and Deepika’s face were beaming with joy while posing for cameras. They both shared a laugh with media photographers when they tried to get Deepika Padukone’s attention by addressing her as “Bhabhi ji”.
Deepika and Ranveer hosted only close friends and family at the reception held at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt. The entire Padukone and Bhavnani families posed for photographs before the party. No film celebrities were spotted at their wedding reception. They’d previously organised a first reception party in Bengaluru on November 21.
Ranveer and Deepika will host yet another reception on December 1 at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai for their friends from the film fraternity. Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor and others will add glamour to the evening.
It was at the picturesque Lake Como in Italy that Ranveer and Deepika exchanged marital vows over two days – November 14 and 15. The couple had two wedding ceremonies to honour each other’s customs – a Konkani-style wedding on November 14 and a traditional anand karaj the following day.
