Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn’t ask us to host this press conference: Sushant Singh

Sushant Singh member of Cine and Television Artists Association (CINTAA) on behalf of the association was present at the #WeSupportPadmavati campaign press conference on Monday. He stated Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn’t ask us to host this press conference.

During interaction, the actor said, “One thing I would like to stress enough on is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn’t ask us to host this press conference. in the film community if anyone ever faces a problem as an actor, director, producer or writer we don’t ask anyone to come and help or support us.”

“When we do something we are aware of the risks we take and we are capable to face them. But we have all come here in support because we are tired of being treated this way.” he added.

He also questioned why isn’t central or state government saying anything when the industry members are being openly threatened by their own party members. “Till when are we doing to have to fight for a basic right, like freedom of expression. Expressing is our work, why do we have to fight for it every single time. As a law abiding responsible citizen of the country don’t we have the right for our government to assure us for our safety?”

Vikram Gokhale who was present at the conference appealed everyone ” if you do think something has been shown wrong please use the rightful methods to showcase your discomfort.”

“This is a mockery of democracy. Our audience is wise if they don’t like the film or the play they go away and write about it, or talk about it. Which is the right way to express opinions unlike threats and burring sets. If you truly want to follow democracy you too have the right to express your feeling after watching the film, you have a paper pen, media.” Vikram added.
