Filmmaker and screenwriter Shakun Batra was spotted at the Red carpet screening of Okja, a multilingual action-adventure Korean-American Film and hopes that someday he will be able to make such a movie someday.
“I think I am going to get depressed after watching Okja, so that I can make such a movie someday” said Shakun Batra.
The movie is based on a young girl named Mija risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend — a massive animal named Okja. The movie stars Ahn Seo-hyun alongside Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Further talking about foreign movies making headways in India due to JIO MAMI initiative, Shakun Batra also added that origin of the movie is hardly any concern; it is the story that matters.
“It is not necessary, whichever movie is good, I watch it, it doesn’t matter which country it is from, whether from Korea, Japan, America or India. It doesn’t matter where is movie come from, what matters is the story of the film. I saw the trailer of this film Okja, I was quite impressed with it” added Shakun.
Shakun made his screenwriting debut with “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu” in 2012, which he followed with super-hit “Kapoor & Sons” in 2016, but now the director-writer stated that his next might be something far away from romance.
“I am writing something. It is not romantic, I am tired of romance now, I am not sure what my next writing would be; right now I am just trying to write something” adds Shakun.
