Shorts TV will encourage filmmakers to make more Short films: Radhika Apte

Actress Radhika Apte who has been a part of Short films medium says Shorts TV will encourage filmmakers to make more Short films.

Apte interacted with media on Tuesday at the launch of the one and only TV channel for Short Films, titled, Shorts TV associated with Tata Sky.

Asked about the Shorts TV and how it will affect the shorts films medium Radhika said, “I think what they are doing is really incredible. Launching a channel only for Short Films is going to give filmmakers so much exposure. It is a bigger platform that will encourage filmmakers to make more short films and get involved in that medium.”

Talking about the Short films creatively she said, it is more free for the maker and actors.

“With short films, one can really experiment and do what they couldn’t do with a feature film. I think it is a medium that we are recognizing again in India after a long time, so I am very pleased to be here and show my support.”

When asked if Radhika thinks, the growing platform for Digital and short films is a positive development she said, “It is a good platform for actors but also for technicians, the whole cast and crew. Because it is difficult to break into the industry with feature films but digital platforms and also short films can give you the opportunity quicker and it is also generating a lot employment.”

Radhika was last seen in the Saif Ali Khan starrer, ‘ Baazaar ‘ and will be next seen in a feature film titled, ‘Bombairiya’.
