Singer and actor Sophie Choudry was spotted at the first edition of Indian Sports Honours which was held in Mumbai. During her media interaction, Sophie talked about having a soft spot for MS Dhoni.
“I seriously have a soft spot for MS Dhoni, I think he was the ultimate captain cool. I think Virat Kohli is doing an amazing job, I have known him ever since he joined RCB and the growth is unbelievable and inspirational. I think he is a fabulous captain but I do adore Dhoni” added Sophie on the sidelines of the first edition of Indian Sports Honour Awards organized by the Virat Kohli Foundation.
The first edition of Indian Sports Honours was held Saturday evening at Grand Hyatt, in Mumbai and the grand event saw Bollywood stars Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Sidharth Malhotra, Malaika Arora, Riteish Deshmukh, among others, in attendance.
The initiative of honoring sportspersons from various fields was launched by Virat Kohli and Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG recently, and the awards function was held honor the sportsman and sportswoman for their contribution in Indian sports.
Further talking about sportsman, Sophie added, “I think in the new lot, Hardik Pandya is really exciting and he has already won an award tonight. He is such a talented man and I am really excited for him. But this is Indian Sports Honour and we shouldn’t only be celebrating cricket, we need to be celebrating everything else.
It is wonderful to see Sania Mirza recognized for her comeback and Yogeshwar Dutt, and Balbir, he is hockey legend”
“I am so excited to meet all the talented and exciting people from all the different fields, PV Sindhu is here too” said Sophie.
At the event, famous sports personalities like Sania Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Prannoy Kumar, Pullela Gopichand, Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin and more graced the event.
