On Saturday, Bhumi Pednekar at a jewelry exhibition by Times Glamour, she spoke to media about how it’s time for us to change and its time of us to evolve as a society.
Bhumi, the lead actress of Toilet Ek Prem Katha spoke about the film and how it mirrors our society, “Toilet Ek Prem Katha comments on the mindset of the majority of Indian society and how we live in a time of hypocrisy. It’s time for us to change and it’s time for us to evolve as a society and make toilets.”
Bhumi was asked when Toliet Ek Prem Katha’s Promotions will commence; she said “Soft promotions have already begun but any day now, actually from tomorrow promotions are starting.”
When asked how difficult was it to portray her character as Jaya, Bhumi said “ It definitely is tough, unfortunately in our country we have seen from generations, suppression of women but it think slowly and steadily things are changing. And the medium we have been given is that of films. I am very lucky to be an actor that I get to do films like these. It’s very heart breaking and heart wrenching.”
She further added how she feels about the film’s release and working with Akshay Kumar, “I am extremely excited but nervous as well. It’s my second film. It’s a very important film and important character for me so I have got my fingers crossed.”
Bhumi who played Sandhya Varma in Dum Kaga ke Haisha also spoke about the TV Serial inspired by the film, “ it’s very exciting to know that my character had such an impact and people are getting inspired and making more material around girls like Sandhya, kudos to Indian television for evolving themselves this way.”
Toilet Ek Prem Katha directed by Shree Narayan Singh is co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar is a comedy film and a governmental campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in India. The film will be released on 11th August 2017.
