Unpredictability of film and characters is what we are banking on says Aksar 2 director Anant Mahadevan

Anant Mahadevan, Gautam Rode and Zareen Khan attended second trailer launch of their upcoming film’Aksar 2‘ on Monday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Mahadevan stated that unpredictability of the film and characters is what they are banking on for the release of ‘Aksar 2’

In India, filmmakers very rarely experiment in suspense thriller genre so when asked Mahadevan what prompted him to make this film, Mahadevan said, “It’s one of the reason why I attempted this film. The good old-fashioned suspense drama which came from Hitchcock days and it has been rarely exploited in Indian cinema. It’s been long since pure suspense film has been released and its seesaw in this film, whom playing whom kind of a thing”

“It will keep the audience at edge of their seat and guessing as to what is real motive of each character so the unpredictability of the film and the characters is what we are banking on . In fact, this cast has first time come together for this film so there is no image that any of these actors carry so the unpredictability that they portray in the film is something that will keep audiences hooked”

Recently, another suspense thriller ‘Ittefaq’ released and now ‘Aksar 2’ is releasing so when asked Mahadevan whether trend of suspense thriller films are coming, Mahadevan replied, “Ittefaq is about ‘who done it’ or ‘who is the killer’ , in this film it’s about ‘how done it’ and why done it’ which makes it more intricate and more fascinating. It’s actually a good old-fashioned suspense drama with black humor in it and I feel audience will come out of theatres entertained by story and plot.”

Earlier ‘Aksar 2’ was scheduled to release in October but now it has been postponed to release on November, commenting on it Mahadevan, “It was really good but at the same time tough decision from the producers but I feel October belonged to one film which released during diwali and the other weeks were very bad. I will attribute this to foresight of the producers who decided November would be good month for the film and fortunately the decision is correct because 17 November is a good date to release a film.”

When asked Gautam Rode who is making debut in bollywood what’s the difference in working in television and films, Rode, said, “In both mediums, shooting styles are very different. In television, you get script before the shot but in films, you get script 1 and half month before shooting of the film so you can prepare for your character. In Television, you have shoot according minutes of one episode of 30 minutes or sometime entire one episode but in films you have so much time to perform one scene. In films you tell entire story in two hours but in television, they just stretch things for months. In films you have tight script but in Television, you write script on each day sometimes it comes out good but sometimes it’s confusing so shooting styles and scripting are very different in both these mediums”

‘Aksar 2’ stars Zareen khan, Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shulka, Lillete Dubey, Mohit Madaan and S. Sreesanth in key roles. It is directed by Anant Mahadevan and produced by Siddhi Vinayak Creation.
