Varun Dhawan – “I am Sorry, if I Have hurt anyone”

Published on

Varun Dhawan has come out in open and apologized for his act at IIFA Awards Night in New York, where a joke about Nepotism went a little too far!

Reigning Queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut opened a can of worm on Koffee with Karan, when she addressed the issue of “Nepotism” in Bollywood. The topic started a debate in film industry, while some lauded Kangana, some disagreed with her statement.

At IIFA awards, Saif Ali Khan sparked up the nepotism debate once again. He joked that Varun Dhawan had made it big in the industry because of his father, director David Dhawan – “You are here because of your papa.” To which Varun replied, “You are here because of your mummy.” Then Karan Johor joined the two and they shouted, “Nepotism rocks”. Johar also added, “Kangana nahi bole toh achha hai (It’s better if Kangana doesn’t speak).”

But Varun Dhawan thinks the joke was in bad taste and his intentions were not to hurt anyone (Kangana) for which he expressed his apology on Twitter.
Varun tweeted, “I express my apology and regret…I am extremely sorry if I have offended or hurt anyone with that act.”

On work front, Varun Dhawan is currently geared-up with his remake “Judwaa 2” opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
