Varun Dhawan wants to prove he’s more than a student

Published on

At the age of 29, Varun Dhawan is doing some of his best work right now. He now understands that the audience is no longer looking for stereotypical performances.

Varun Dhawan no longer tries to play it safe and is not worried about disappointing fans.

Dishoom is his second two-hero movie after Dilwale where he starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan. But he liked the narration and wasn’t going to turn it down.

Varun Dhawan plays the part of Junaid Ansari, an Indian in Abu Dhabi which causes concerns for national security. He studied with an Arabic tutor and also learnt about Islam so he could play the reluctant hero in the movie.
