Deepika Padukone said everyone should hope for the best and say a little prayer for Irrfan Khan, on the sidelines of the ‘8th Hall of Fame Awards 2018’ on Saturday.
Irrfan Khan recently announced that he was suffering from a “rare disease” and had said he would share details when there was a conclusive diagnosis. the actor and Wife producer Sutapa Sikdar have requested for space from the media houses.
The Piku Costar Deepika while addressing Irrfan’s announcement said, ” He is someone I absolutely love not just as an actor but as a person. I think I have had one of my most special experiences as an actor with him. Piku will be my all time favorite and one of my special films and I think he had a large part to play in that. But that’s it, honestly, I do not know where he is and I do not know what has happened.
I think like he has requested there are times when people just need to be left alone for sometime and figure out their lives. I think we should respect that space they have requested for and hope for the best and say a little prayer.”
The two were supposed to start shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s untitled project inspired by the Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai but has been postponed due to health problems with both the lead actors.
When asked about the health issues she is facing due to her back pain, Deepika said, “It is all well and good I will start with physiotherapy and there is nothing to worry about.”
Since ‘Padmaavat’ her last film caused many issues and attracted a lot of press, the actor was asked about the fame and pressure that comes with being a star, she said, “I don’t think I can say that fame is especially important for me but one cannot simply ignore the Fame or the attention that comes with the industry I work in. It is the byproduct of the work that I do and I love my work.
In the last 10 years, the work that I have done helped me learn a lot and I’ve enjoyed working with the people that I have. And in future, I hope that I just keep on enjoying the work that I do.
Deepika was last seen in Sanjay leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ co starring Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in pivotal roles.
