Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge on ZEE TV is back with a bang… and has turned the musical stage into a singing battleground, for real! The channel is trying its hands on a different concept and is taking the competition to an altogether different level by turning the singers into representatives of their respective janam bhumi.
In conversation with Parthiv Gohil, an ex-participant and winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, we quiz him on this potentially volatile format of the show.
If you were to represent a state other than Gujarat, what will be your choice? “Well it’s difficult to explain and pick only one state that I would like to represent. But yes, I would say that it will definitely be my karma bhumi, which is Maharashtra. As I have started my career here and without which, I would have not achieved this success.”
“Every state has its own typicality and I think this competition is a celebration of all the states. Hence I would say, Gujarat is my janam bhumi whereas Maharashtra is my karma bhumi and right now, I am on the show to do justice to my janam bhumi,” he enthusiastically added.
When we asked him on the shree Ganeshaya of the show, he commented, “The celebration started with ‘Mastane Maratha’ and ‘Utsaahi Uttar Pradesh’ but ended with a dhamaka by Marathas. Quite frankly the performance given by Marathas was remarkable by far and there is no favouritism as it is a competition after all.”
