The first look of Prabhas in the much-anticipated sci-fi film, Project K, reveals him in a rugged superhero avatar, setting the stage for the film’s debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

The production team behind Project K has released the initial glimpse of Prabhas’s character from the upcoming science-fiction epic directed by Nag Ashwin. The film’s star-studded cast also includes Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani.
The first look of Prabhas, shared on Vyjayanthi Movies’ official Instagram account, presents him in a raw and rugged persona. The poster showcases Prabhas in a superhero suit, his fist touching the ground and his gaze directed upwards, exuding an intimidating aura. His character features long hair and a beard, adding to the rugged appeal.

In a landmark event, Project K is set to be the first Indian film to make its debut at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2023. In anticipation of this event, a billboard announcing, “First glimpse on July 20” was displayed at Times Square in New York City. The first look of Deepika Padukone’s character was also revealed earlier this week.

The film was announced in February 2020, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Vyjayanthi Movies. However, the production was delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming began in July 2021 in a futuristic set erected at Ramoji Film City, in Hyderabad.
“Project K” is reportedly being made on a budget of ?600 crore (US$75 million), making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. The film’s music score is composed by Santhosh Narayanan with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary.
The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 12 January 2024. The film marks the Telugu cinema debut of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The film also marks the return of Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan to Telugu and Hindi cinema.
The film was initially planned to begin its regular shoot in November 2020, however, it was postponed to the following year due to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. Principal photography commenced in Hyderabad in July 2021 on the occasion of Guru Purnima, following a muhurat shot featuring Bachchan. Prabhas and Padukone joined the production in December 2021 and scenes featuring Bachchan, Prabhas, and Padukone were shot.
The film is planned to be released globally in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and English languages.
